An Orthopantomogram (OPG) is a panoramic scanning dental X-ray that provides a comprehensive, two-dimensional view of the upper and lower jaws, all teeth, the jaw joints (temporomandibular joints or TMJ), and the surrounding facial bones and sinuses.
Unlike small, traditional dental X-rays where the film sensor is placed inside your mouth, an OPG scanner rotates completely around your head while you stand or sit comfortably. This makes the entire process incredibly fast, seamless, and completely comfortable—especially for patients suffering from mouth pain or a strong gag reflex.
